The Place To Stay When Visiting The Greenville Upstate Childrens Museum

December 23, 2011   Filed under Hotel

The Upstate Childrens Museum is a popular facility in North Carolina that features hands on exhibits. Located in southern Greenville, it is a common destination for local toddlers and school aged children. In recent years, however, the museum’s popularity has understandably spread to other states. On any given weekday, it’s not at all uncommon for it to attract visitors from all over the country.

The museum was first thought of by a young woman who found herself upset by Greenville’s lack of educational spaces for younger children. A mother to small children herself, she began drawing up some plans and recruiting benefactors. In 2003 the city donated the abandoned library and construction on the facility officially began.

The museum opened on July 31st in 2009 to rave reviews. The various exhibits feature hands on elements and are designed to educate and entertain children of all ages. Admission to the museum is an affordable twelve dollars for kids ages two and up, with group discounts available as well.

The numerous attractions include exhibits designed to teach children about music, art, and construction. Hands on rooms such as the realistic hospital and farm allow guests to investigate and learn at their own pace. The museum also features a new traveling exhibit every few months.

If you are planning a vacation to the popular childrens museum, there is no better place to reside than the elegant Crowne Plaza. Situated in downtown Greenville, the motel is only a few blocks from the educational museum.
