1927 witnessed the rise of Indian Motorcycle with three products from its line the Indian Scout, the Indian Chief and the Indian Ace. They created a major impact and besides they acquired the assets of the Ace Motorcycle Company which got them the name of Indian Four.
The year’27 saw the production of the first all-talking motion picture, The Jazz Singer, starring Al Jolson. It was also the year Charles Lindbergh reached Paris after his successful trans-Atlantic flight, and the year Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run in the 8th inning of a game between New York and Washington. The beating that came after Ruth in the line-up was a man by the name of Louis Gehrig.
Though farmers were facing a tough year – tough enough that many of them sold out and became tenant farmers, America was at the peak of the Jazz Age in’27. The Indian Motorcycle Company was having a fine year as well.
The sign that Indian Motorcycle was doing fine came from the fact that the sale of the Scout and the Chief went up. Besides the Ace Company bike, the rights of which were acquired by Indian Motorcycle, produced a four cylinder machine which was named “Ace Indian”. After a year the name was changed to Indian Four which was a huge and luxurious bike.
The Indian Four that started out as the Indian Ace evolved by’41 into a 77 cubic inch (1,256 cc) four cylinder machine. It had a tank-shifting three speed program and was dressed up in the Indian skirted fenders. Indian made few in’42, but with the beginning of World War II, production of the Indian Four stopped for good.
America and Indian Motorcycle both were walking ahead in the year’27. The major customer of the Scout and Chief brand from Indian Motorcycle was the police department. So much so that the company had to have a new department dealing with the supply to the police force. They also saw to it that the bike had a new lower frame.
But they probably didn’t know just how important the 101 Scout from the year’28 would be. And in’27 they could hardly know that 40 years into the future an Indian motorcycle would set an Under-1000 cc speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in northwest Utah.
A’27 Indian Motorcycle is a rare find today. The few specimens that have been tenderly restored to the beautiful machines they started out as can sell for as much as $30,000. Clearly,’27 was a great year for the Indian Motorcycle Company.
The 1927 model Indian motorcycle is an all time classic. If you want to read more on another classic; the1947 Indian motorcycle model click on the link.

Millions and millions of people dream of moving to America and starting up a new life in the states. However, getting in is no easy feat, especially if you are from a country that has lots of people with the same desire. There is a waiting list for American citizenship that is estimated will not be clear for a decade! Even if you have an employee visa there is no guarantee that you can stay once the term stated in your visa is up.
But there is a solution ” if you are a businessman or a trader, and if you already have a business that is doing well in your country, you have a great chance to apply and get accepted for permanent US resident visas. There is a long list of countries with which the USA has a bilateral trade agreement, and citizens of all those countries can apply for the E1 and E2 visas.
The E1 visa can be granted to traders who are originally from a country that is involved in the long-standing trade agreement with the USA and who are looking to set up a genuine and honest trading model between their country of origin and America. There is no maximum stay with these visas, they can be renewed as many times as the holder likes provided their business is still operational.
The E2 visa is an investor visa for people who wish to invest in a US business. The investment must provide employment for at least ten American citizens and the minimum amount you must invest to qualify for this visa is usually $1,000,000, however it does vary from state to state and in some, a $500,000 investment is enough grounds for you to qualify for the E2 visa.
The good thing about both these visas is that they can also be granted to the family of the traders and investors without any conditions. If you are eligible for these, try applying!

Do Something Different On Your Lake Buena Vista Vacation
When you book a second (or third or fourth) Lake Buena Vista vacation, you might start to think about spreading your wings beyond the first and obvious choices of Disney World or Universal or Sea World. If you’re looking for some variety, there is a lot to choose from and some of them only take up about half a day, so you can use the rest of the day to relax by the pool. This article gives you some brief details about just a few of the alternatives.
Gatorland is the place to see some of Florida’s oldest inhabitants – alligators. Dating back to prehistoric times, these fascinating creatures live wild all over the State and at Gatorland’s Jumparoo you will get the closest of close ups that anyone could want, plus lots of facts to educate you and an introduction to other animals..
For more excitement you can watch in awe as the trainers wrestle with these huge animals. Remember to take a change of clothes for when you want to cool off in the splash park. You will find Gatorland at 14501 South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, Florida 32837 about 1 mile north of Osceola Parkway.
On a smaller scale Jungle Adventures at 26205 East Colonial Drive, Christmas, Florida 32709 (yes there really is a town called Christmas complete with a decorated tree!) is a nature park and zoo. Here you can take a Jungle swamp cruise among about 200 alligators, get close up and personal with baby alligators and snakes and of course see alligator wrestling.
One thing that sets it apart from Gatorland and makes the longer journey worthwhile is the wide range of animals you can see. Raccoons and exotic birds are side by side with the rare Florida Panther. The place also features a replica of a Native American Indian village including ancient tools and implements made by present day Native Americans.
Instead of the alligators and panthers you may enjoy the more peaceful experience of the Historic Bok Sanctuary. Located in Lake Wales (south of Lake Buena Vista), it comprises 250 acres of gardens including walking trails and paths and many birds and butterflies are attracted to the Sanctuary.
All around the gardens are benches and grassy areas for you to relax and experience the tranquility. You can take a picnic and settle down on the grass and enjoy reading a book while enjoying the peace or sample a more substantial repast in Carillon Cafe.
At the center of the Sanctuary and on the highest point in Florida (less than 300 feet above sea level!) is the Bell Tower. Marble and coquina construction materials were used to create a beautiful carillon tower that is used to produce music every hour. Pinewood Estates, built as the winter retreat for Bethlehem Steel Vice President Charles Austin Buck, is also available to tour and it still contains many of the original furnishings.
Finally, why not try Lake Louisa State Park, on Highway 27 and about thirty minutes west of Lake Buena Vista? Unlike the Disney theme parks, the attractions are all strictly natural: deer, butterflies, wild turkeys, opossum, birds and many other mammals are on view along the nature trails. Good hiking shoes are advisable as is lots of insect repellent and supplies of sunscreen.
For the angler there is fishing access at four of the six lakes found in the Park but you will need a fishing license. If you want to cool off after a hike on the trails don’t forget to take your swimming thing so you can swim in Lake Louisa. You will need to take your own food and drinks but there are plenty of picnic benches in the park especially around Lake Louisa.
So there you are – these are just a few of the many alternatives to Disney and Universal that can make your Lake Buena Vista vacation just that little bit more special.
