Dine at a Fancy Restaurant Economically

In this current troubled economic period, many people have had to trim their budgets to make ends meet. Many people think that eating at fancy restaurants is one activity they have to eliminate from their budget. Fortunately, there are things you can do to greatly reduce your restaurant bill if you dine at a fancy restaurant.

1. The most expensive time to eat at a fancy restaurant is during the evening. To get a much cheaper meal, have lunch at an expensive restaurant. Most restaurants offer scaled down meals at lunch time at a much cheaper price. It is important to find out when the lunch hours end and dinner hours begin so you don’t end up paying for a dinner meal.

2. Many fancy restaurants will offer special promotions in the newspaper where they will provide a coupon for a discount on a dinner. Make sure you check the local newspaper to see if there are any special discounts being offered by a fancy restaurant.

3. Some fancy restaurants will offer a type of “happy hour” such as between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. During this time they will offer inexpensive items from their regular menu. This type of promotion may be offered in a lounge area.

4. Many fancy restaurants will offer brunch on certain days such as Sunday. They may have a buffet or special discounts on meals. These meals are usually much cheaper than their standard dinner meals. Don’t forget about cheap breakfast and brunch menus on during the off-season.

5. Fancy restaurants will have delicious appetizers. You can orders several different appetizers and share them with a friend or spouse.

6. Share the entree with the person you are dining with. Entrees can often be such dishes as a platter of different types of food such as seafood.

7. Considering drinking water instead of soda or alcohol. These beverages are expensive so drinking only water will cut down on the price of the meal. You can squeeze a little lemon in it for flavor.

8. If it is possible, order and eat an appetizer before you place your order. You will then be somewhat full and will be less likely to order more food than you need.

9. Desserts at a fancy restaurant can be very expensive. You can cut down on your dining bill if you cut out the desserts.

10. A great way to make the most out of an expensive meal is to take leftovers home. If you have enough food, you will have a meal at home the next day. Consider this option when reviewing the menu.

11. Eat a snack before you go to the restaurant. Such food as carrot or apple pieces will satisfy some hunger so you won’t over order. Consider it an appetizer.

Eating at a fancy restaurant does not have to blow your monthly budget. Just practice a couple of cost cutting tips and you can have a great meal at a great price.

I love shopping at Farmers Markets where the produces are fresh and the fruits and vegetables are in season. Farmers markets are places where you can buy your goods at extremely lower prices, totaling to almost 50% mark down compared to grocery and shopping mall prices. Going to farmers markets also gives me a keen sense of consumerism pride as I am able to get the best commodities at relatively lower price.

For those of you who are not aware, farmers markets are bazaars that are usually set up at open areas. They are usually open every weekend on the morning, so the goods are guaranteed as fresh and ripe. Customers flock farmers market to meet and greet with their favorite farmers and engage in the shopping experience. Being at the farmers market is like being on an authentic Palenque , consumers are engaged in endless battle of haggling over great looking and tasting items.

Arkansas is one of the many states that hold Farm and Art market. It surely is a picturesque mixture of fruits, vegetables and arts. Thinking about it arts and market products have nothing to offer in common, all I know is that it’ll be fun to witness this kind of event. Local Artists are present during the fete; they will lighten the busy event. Artists are also given the chance to showcase their art products. It is a abundant and artistic celebration.

Paintings on oil and acrylics will be put up for sale this weekend. There will also be an interesting on the spot face charcoal painting for the spectators and shoppers who would love to see their portrait on canvas. Artists will be more than welcome to commission your artworks for you.

Come to the Farm and Art Market at Arkansas this weekend! Bring your trusted comrades and dearest friends!

Interior Design is a very essential aspect of a room. It involves planning and consideration of design elements for the psychological and physiological well-being of the users or inhabitants. Interior Design will correct any mistake that a space possess. It will make the habitants of the space live in harmony and balance.

There are many rules and practical principles that encompass the world of Feng Shui and part of it is to incorporate plants to promote the well being of the dwellers. Feng Shui is the concept that follows principles or strategies that should also imbibe the well-being of the dwellers in a given space. Feng Shui states that plants help absorb negative ch’i or energy in a space so as it would not affect the dwellers.

In bedrooms there should at least be one plant which has to be carefully positioned near the doorway or entrance/ exit points. This is to block the negative ch’is that can harm the person who inhabits the room. Plants should be carefully positioned in areas of the home.

Small plants such as bonsai trees could be strategically placed on top of the living room of the coffee table. This is to ensure constant welfare and good harmony within the people and their guests when entertaining. Tony Kushner is an American playwright and author of numerous plays that garnered huge acclaim and recognition over the past years. At Minneapolis, Minnesota there will be an event that will cater to the theatre aficionados and enthusiasts of this place. The event is entitled “An Evening of Short Plays” wherein works of the famous Tony Kushner will be featured.

A Short play is mostly like a condensed theatrical play that has the ability to portray its meaning in a shorter amount of time compared to the real play. Short plays are also generally portrayed by a less number of actors and artists. Play and theatre lovers will finally enjoy and can sit back and relax from a long and tiring weekend by attending the evening of Short Plays. To better understand this event maybe we should first define what the term Short Play means.

Short plays are portrayed on smaller stages and use less intricate and lighter stage effects and props. The smaller stage and the lesser effects are done to make way for the quick change of costumes and scenes. Short plays are commonly done on school activities which is a better alternative to long and tiring plays.

Several long plays to make it into short plays are divided into scenes where the most important part of the stories can be seen. The play Miss Saigon and the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe are both long theatrical plays containing several scenes. Long plays like these can be made to short plays by only choosing a portion of the scene set and acting it out.

If you’re a theatre fan and enthusiast, then coming to the Evening of Short Plays in Minneapolis a right decision for you to think about. Tag your friends along!

Francisco de Goya: A great Spanish painter

What is the most successful and highest paying job nowadays? I really don’t know the answer to the previous question but I know the answer to that if we rewind this scenario from centuries ago. Would you like to have the highest paying and the most coveted job in the whole world? Aside from being the boss/ owner of a huge company are you dreaming of the possibility in being envied and being on top of everyone else?

The duty of a court painter is to render direct service to the royalties- providing family and self-portraits for them in any ocassion. Being a painter is a white-collar job during the past. Being a royal or court painter is one of the highest paying and the most coveted job of all. Being chosen by the royalty to commission their paintings is like being the White House’s official photographer now (although that post may not gain the amount of prestige as court painters do before).

Among Spain’s celebrated artists is Francisco de Goya, a Renaissance painter famous for his Court Paintings and Dark Artworks (latter years). Spain gave birth to Classical and Modernist artists of our times. This I believe is due to the rich cultural and historical significance of Spain in the world.

Francisco de Goya is a painter known to succumb to boring and sometimes carnival-ish subjects which are the Court and its inhabitants. De Goya died a deaf man while still continuing what he started but painting on mostly dark subjects already. His earliest and most successful years of being a painter is seen as a loyal Court Painter to the Royal Family of Spain. During the latter years in his career he has been exposed to a controversy which led his immediate expulsion from court.

A gallery will be shown to pay tribute to this great Spanish painter in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Picnic Backpack Selection Tips – For Everyone On The Go

May 30, 2009 by Patricia C Thomas

The right picnic backpack can transform a long family outing to an enjoyable romp. It can make a huge difference on those romantic outings as well as they leave your arms free for hand-holding. If you know what you are looking for and select according to your current needs, you can find the perfect pack whether you are packing just for yourself or for the entire family.

The first consideration when purchasing a backpack is size. Depending on who will be carrying it most of the time, you may want to select something more compact or a bit larger. Of course, you have to also consider how many items you will be hauling for this occasion before picking the size.

Sizes are generally determined by how many people are going on the picnic. For example, a 2 person backpack is going to be more compact and offer less space for drinks than a 4 person backpack. Don’t let the idea of a backpack fool you because some of these can be quite large and bulky.

If you are purchasing this item for a child, then consider purchasing one that was made just for children. They will be lighter weight and have features designed just for younger users. If you will be going on a lot of family outings then you may want to purchase a pack for each of your children so they can each carry their own belongings and lighten the load on you.

Another thing to consider is the arrangement of compartments inside the pack. Different models and brands will have different space arrangements, such as slots for placing bottled drinks or silverware and open spaces for stacking in food. Make sure that these compartments match up with what you will typically be carrying along.

There are some packs that are quite compact while still allowing you to carry along a lot of stuff. This a matter of design so make sure to look around and select one that will remain compact enough to be carried comfortably while still offering enough room to haul the amount of stuff you need to take along.

When purchasing a picnic backpack keep in mind the functional capacity of the product more than price. You want something that is going to hold up with consistent use and remain functional for some time to come. If you pick the right size and style chances are you will have many enjoyable outings without the hassle of lugging along a basket by hand.

The Convenience of a Picnic Backpack

Having a picnic with the entire family at a nice park or even in the back yard is extremely exciting for the whole family. It’s a time when you can all enjoy some time with each other and catching up. Of course you’ll have to have some food for the picnic, so you’ll need to have something that you can carry all that food in. This especially is handy when you are having a picnic somewhere away from home.

A picnic backpack is ideal for a picnic event. They have several pockets and containers that store almost everything that you will need such as utensils, food, blankets, drinks, and more. They look like regular backpacks and are carried the same way.

While the disadvantages of a picnic backpack are few, some backpacks are not durable enough to stand heavy weight or designed well enough to keep things in place causing mess inside the backpack. This, of course, depends on the brand of picnic backpack you will use.

When you are purchasing a picnic backpack you want to ensure it will last, is durable, and of high quality. You’ll be carrying quite a bit in the backpack so it needs to be durable enough to deal with the weight. It should also have enough pockets and containers to carry all the picnic items you take along.

If you are looking for good brand names, some of the best and most common for picnic backpacks are Pranzo, Classico, Zuma, and Hudson. You’ll find them to be backpacks that are durable. They’ll provide you everything you need in a picnic backpack and are easy to find.

Another thing to look for in a picnic backpack is one that has various containers that seal up well. This is important to making it easy for you to carry everything. Straps can be helpful too. They’ll provide support and keep things in place so they don’t spill all over the place in the backpack.

Both sport and equipment stores carry picnic backpacks. You’ll also find that many online websites sell good picnic backpacks as well. Most are dependable and easy to afford. There are some that have extra compartments and other special features. They’ll cost a little more but are worth it.

The picnic backpack is not only ideal whenever you go on picnics but can also be used for other events such as mountain hiking as well. This makes picnic backpacks a hit for people who love being outdoors. Now that the summer heat is up, why don’t you try getting a new picnic backpack for yourself and for your family?

Restaurants near Deer Valley Resort

May 6, 2009 by Robin Rutecki

The ski resorts in Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado have been competing over the last 20 years to create the perfect mountain vacation getaway. The ski vacation is no longer the same experience it was in the 1980s when lodgings of marginal quality were considered the norm.

The last ten years have brought continual expansion to the size of resort facilities, on mountain services, shopping, and dining. While there are many top quality ski destinations; Vail Resort in Vail, CO and Deer Valley Resort in Park City, UT consistently fill the #1 and #2 spots as rated by Ski Magazine readers. Deer Valley Resort has taken the number one honors in 2001, 2005, 2007, and 2008.

Deer Valley focuses on the quality of its finely groomed trails, on mountain services, and on mountain dining to retain its #1 ranking. The resort prides itself on its award winning lunch menu as well as its fine dining restaurants open every evening during the ski season. The restaurants are located in Deer Valley Resorts opulent ski lodges.

Selections at Deer Valleys three fine dining restaurants include continental and European fare at Mariposa, fresh seafood at the Seafood Buffet, and Swiss alpine selections at Fireside Dining. Mariposa consistently receives top reviews with the Seafood Buffet and Fireside Dining not far behind.

The town of Park City Utah has followed suit by increasing the number of luxury accommodations, fine dining, and shopping options. The expansion over the last 10 years has been very dramatic with literally hundreds of new luxury lodging options gradually replacing the more traditional ski vacation accommodations.

As a result of the recent transition towards a more discerning palate, area restaurants have responded by introducing a rich dining experience worthy of top honors. Distinguished rating agencies such as the Michelin Travel Guide, Mobile Travel Guide, and Zagat Restaurant Guide have awarded Deer Valley area restaurants with their highest ratings.

My favorite is the Goldener Hirsch Restaurant because of its timeless Austrian decor and the delicious cheese fondue appetizer. The Goldener Hirsch Restaurant is located in the Goldener Hirsch Inn situated in the Silver Lake Village area of Deer Valley. The Glitretind Restaurant is another highly rated option which is located in the world famous Stein Ericksen Lodge.

Deer Valley resort definitely lives up to its #1 North American ski resort reputation. Why not have it all and visit a resort that not only provides the utmost experience on mountain, but also the perfect balance of off mountain dining and shopping as well? I definitely recommend taking a closer look.
