From Florida To New York

Whenever someone visits the east coast on a vacation they tend to always lead to the state of Florida. Although Florida has a lot ot offer and is one of the largest tourist states in the whole US there is much more to the east coast than just this one state.
Georgia has plenty to offer. There is a long coastline with plenty of choices in beaches, there is also a large city called Atlanta that has plenty to do. Atlanta has plenty of local events, but they also have a professional football team, basketball team, hockey team and a baseball team. It doesn’t matter what time of year you visit, there is always a sporting event to go to. Along with the big city, there are also smaller towns and old world charm in places like Savannah. Savannah has the charm and feel of an old southern town, which can make you feel right at home.
North of Georgia is the Carolina’s. Both South Carolina and North Caroline has beautiful beaches and breath taking mountain scenery. There are many smaller and large cities depending on what your interests are. Right in between the two states is an area that is designed for travelers and families. This area is called South of the Border and has everything from little knick knack shops to restaurants, to amusement rides and accommodations. It is a fun time for all.
If these things aren’t enough, keep moving up the coast and I am sure you will find even more great things to do. Virginia is the next stop and has plenty of things to offer a traveler or vacationer. It also puts you really close to our nations capital, Washington D.C. With all the monuments and museums in D.C., it could take a normal person weeks just to see every exhibit in the Smithsonian.
Up north a little further and you are in the “big apple”. NYC is one of the most famous destinations to visit by both New Yorkers and those that live out of the state. From Broadway to Rockefeller Center there is so much to see and do that you will never have a dull moment.

Where To Take Your Family On Vacation

Picking out a great vacation for the family is not as easy as it sounds. There can be big differences in what everybody likes or wants to do. Now, taking out the fact that parents would like to do something relaxing and maybe even romantic, there are still things that are family friendly. Also, if anybody tries to talk you into taking a family vacation in Las Vegas, get as far away from them as possible. Do it quickly, nobody needs friends like that. That town is not appropriate for children and only single people should be allowed in the city limits.
So what does that leave, if you can’t go somewhere relaxing, romantic or to Las Vegas, where do you take the family? Well, there are plenty of places. Let’s assume that going overseas is not an option, for simplicity’s sake. That leaves you with fifty great states, cruises and even Canada, which contrary to popular belief, does have things to do for fun.
The obvious places are easy, the beach or mountains. Depending on where you live, there is the option of visiting the ocean along the east or west coast and along the Gulf of Mexico. For people who already live near the ocean, the mountains can be more of a draw. The Smokey Mountains for the eastern US and the Rockies for the west are great destinations. California even has its own range for people that live there. Spending a week in the mountains or at the beach can be a great vacation and there are so many things to do from skiing, water or snow, swimming, hiking and biking, to scuba diving and camping.
For people who want a little more structure and want all of their vacation in an easy to open container, a theme park or a cruise is a great option. These all inclusive vacations are easy to plan and easy to keep the agenda straight. You know exactly where you are going to be each day and you even know when and where you will eat dinner each night. It can take some of the stress out of a vacation, which is supposed to be relaxing to begin with.
These are all great family things to do and there should be something for everybody to do. Planning is easy as well, with just a few clicks of a mouse you can have everything done.

One of Florida’s Top Beaches – St Pete Beach

People come here from around the world to have a family vacation or be just bring a friend, to get married in a picturesque setting or spend the day fishing to their heart’s content uninterrupted by responsibilities. Some find it a great location to get to other attractions, or to escape after a busy week at Disney World, or just to run relatively undisturbed by the water for their daily exercise. Whatever their reason, the beauty of this beach is a huge magnet.
For those who find the names confusing, St Pete Beach became a separate city from St. Petersburg City to the east in 1994. All the separate entities joined as part of it, so Passagrille, Belle Vista dn St. Petersburg Beach are considered as one. Depending on the season, the population can lower to 10,000 and rise to 20,000 as people arrive at their favorite spring destination.
Then there are the tourists who keep coming back to this area because the beaches are beautiful, the rates can be relatively cheap depending on where you stay, and there is something about the area for those trying to avoid huge crowds. Dont get me wrong, this can be a busy area, but not like Daytona Beach in the same wild party way. There are 39 acres of beach for the public to enjoy, and after all, beach is what its about here.
If you want public transportation instead of renting a vehicle, try the Beach Trolley which winds its way around the Gulf Boulevard every 30 to 40 minutes and will take you into St. Petersburg, Clearwater and the Tampa Bay area if you wish via connections. There is Bats Taxi Service which knows the area well, and can be more economical if you are coming with several people from Tampa International airport rather than taking a shuttle. Bats is at 727-367-3702.
Staying right at the beach is first choice for many and understandably so. You’ll find many accommodations concentrated by the sand on this St Pete Beach hotel site. However, some people love to rent a more private space, including one woman I met on the beach from Denver, who consistently rented from the Frank Hurley Associates rental and real estate office. I would recommend considering it if you can be flexible about being at the water. 1-800-783-6929.
And don’t forget to check out the Honda Grand Prix at St Pete Beach during April/09 if you are lucky enough to be the area!
